Family Of Slain Boy Files Lawsuit Against School District
The family of Larry King, the eighth grader killed in what prosecutors call a hate crime school shooting are filing a personal injury claim against the Port Hueneme School District. The family alleges that educator's failure to protect the boy led to his death and are seeking unspecified damages. Under state law, individuals cannot sue public agencies unless they first file a claim. King was shot as he sat in his English class at E.O. Green Junior High in February of this year. His classmate, Brandon McInerney has been charged with his murder. McInerney has pled not guilty.
