R.V. Fire Shuts Road Down in Carpinteria

Christine Truong

Toro Canyon Road in Carpinteria has reopened after an R.V. fire shut it down for most of Saturday afternoon.

The motor home burst into flames around 2:00 p.m.

The driver said he and his family were headed to an engagement party when his kids started screaming about the fire.

Everyone escaped uninjured, but the motor home couldn't be saved.

Firefighters called a large flatbed truck to haul what remained of the R.V. away.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
