Air Quality Advisory Issues for Santa Barbara County
A precautionary air quality advisory has been issued for Santa Barbara County due to smoke from the brush fire in Goleta and the ongoing fire in Monterey County.
The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District and Public Health Department released a precautionary advisory, but officials said that changing winds and weather conditions would affect the levels of smoke in the air. Smoke from the Gap Fire in Goleta may affect South Coast air quality and smoke from the Basin Complex Fire in Monterey County may continue to affect North County air quality, officials said. Health officials advise staying indoors, avoiding exercise and contacting a physician if any symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing occur. |
