Two In Custody After Gunshot Victim Is Hospitalized
A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder Monday evening in Goleta. The victim was found in the parking lot between K-Mart and Jack in the Box on the corner of Storke Rd and Hollister Ave. Santa Barbara County Firefighters initially responded to the scene expecting to find a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle, they arrived to find a man who had been shot in the shoulder. The victim was immediately treated by paramedics and rushed to Cottage Hospital in critical condition. A description of the suspects vehicle was provided to sheriff's detectives by witnesses who were in the area when the shooting occurred behind the Chevron gas station. A short time later a vehicle matching the description was spotted driving southbound on the 101, deputies followed the vehicle and subsequently pulled the driver over near Santa Claus Lane in Carpinteria. The driver of the vehicle and his passenger were then taken into custody by gun point. The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department are not releasing many details about the incident and arrests and have not confirmed if the arrest were made in connection to the shooting.
