Vasquez Documents May Be Unsealed

Alys Martinez

KEYT and the Newspress are still awaiting word on whether a superior court judge will unseal documents in the Sylvia Vasquez Case.

On Tuesday, Judge Frank Ochoa may make a decision to allow access to those documents. Search and arrest warrants could shed light on what investigators expected to find inside the Vasquez home and daycare in January.

Vasquez, a Santa Barbara day care operator, is facing charges of keeping her malnourished children locked up in cage-like conditions. Monday, she was ordered to stay away from her adopted children.

A judge says the child abuse allegations against Sylvia Jovanna Vasquez "are becoming more serious."
