Commuter Bus Overcrowding
More people are giving mass transit a ride now that gas prices are passing the $4 a gallon mark.one of the busiest routes is between Lompoc and Goleta and back each day. Some riders have been greeted by full buses, which means they have to wait for the next bus. Transportation officials say changes are being made to keep up with demand. A bus normally used for the Santa Ynez Valley will pick up a Lompoc route soon. Unlike city transit, riders on these long haul buses are not allowed to stand up for the hour long trip. So residents want the county to take action, KEY News Senior Reporter John Palminteri has more on the buses growing demand.
