LocalWrong Way Driver Wreaks Havoc On The 101
California Highway Patrol officers were called out to the northbound 101 in Montecito, just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, to the reports of a wrong-way driver. Two early morning accidents on the freeway were a result of this wrong way driver and KEY News was there to capture his arrest. It all started near Olive Mill Road in Montecito when 21 year old Luis Marcil began driving southbound on the northbound lanes of the freeway. CHP says the Marcil, reportedly hit two cars while driving southbound and then continued driving the wrong way! The victims suffered minor injuries. Marcil was eventually pulled over by the CHP at the exit for Sheffield Dr. where they conducted a sobriety test. He was then arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol after failing the field sobriety tests.
