UPDATE: Charges Filed In Oceano Woman's Death
Charges have been filed against the three men initially arrested at the Oceano Dunes campground for drunk in public and other arrest warrants. The three men are now being charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of a 53 year old woman. According to sheriff's investigators the woman had been drinking with the three other subjects when she lost consciousness and was then buried with sand by the men. Autopsy results confirm her cause of death was asphyxiation. The suspects are being held at the the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
The death of a 53 year old woman at the Oceano Dunes is being investigated as suspicious. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's say the woman was found Wednesday evening, not breathing near a campsite at the dunes. She died around 7:30 at Arroyo Grande Hospital. Deputies are calling the death suspicious because the woman was with three men at the time and the relationship between the four is still unclear. Although two of men were arrested at the campground for public intoxication and parole violations. The Sheriff's Department says there are no signs of trauma on the woman's body. An autopsy is expected to be completed by Wednesday night. |
