How Much Parental Control Is Too Much
A national trend giving parents on-line access to their children's grades is catching on locally. The Santa Barbara School District now allows parents a way to monitor their child's education from homework to test scores, even discipline issues. Parents have accessed a similar system at Bishop Diego High School, for years. Both the "Aries" and "Ed-Line" systems allow on-line access, 24 hours a day. But some wonder if the trend is toward too much parent oversight. The next trend: "Princi-Palms" -- a device allowing principals to carry a student's class schedule in the palm of their hand. KEY News Reporter Beth Farnsworth spoke to students, parents and school officials about the new technologies.
