UPDATE: Deceased Atascadero Teen Identified

According to investigators, the death of an Atascadero High School student on Wednesday was not a result of foul play. Students, many in tears, laid flowers at the entrance to the school swimming pool this Thursday morning. Seventeen year old John Erlanson was found unconscious during a P.E. class, in the shallow end of the pool. Other students were in the water, and an instructor was nearby. Grief counseling and an investigation are now underway. All evening activities last night were canceled and rescheduled.
