LocalVentura Harbor Fire
A fire lit up the sky above the Ventura Harbor around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The Ventura City Fire Dept. responded to the Ventura Isle Marina on the report of a boat fire. Upon arriving on scene fire officials found 2 large boats fully involved and 3 additional boats directly exposed to the raging fire. The Ventura Harbor Patrol responded with 2 boats to aide in the firefighting, along with one additional fire-boat responding from Oxnard. Within 35 minutes the flames were out, unfortunately 2 boats were destroyed. The fire destroyed a 42-ft sailboat, 36-ft power yacht and severely damaged a 30-ft sailboat. The crew on scene was however able to move and save a number of vessels from the devastating flames. KEY News reporter Tracy Lehr is on scene and has more information about this suspicious blaze.
