Shoreline Park Collapse Meeting
Santa Barbara officials are sharing their strategy to address a section of Shoreline Park that broke off into the ocean. Monday night, they met with the public at the location where battering January rains created the sinkhole. Officials say a geologist will soon survey the area to determine if there's potential for more problems. Once that study is complete, a time frame will be established on when to replace the sidewalk, and re-open nearby stairway access down to the beach. For now, protective fencing will be kept up along with message boards warning park goers of the existing danger.
