Atascadero Man Arrested On Murder Charges

On Sunday, Kenneth Leroy Cockrell Jr. walked into the Atascadero Police Station and told officers his wife was dead inside their residence on La Linia Avenue. Shortly after the man reported the death, the Atascaedro Police and the San Luis Obispo District Attorney's office obtained a search warrant for Cockrell's home. After conducting a search of the residence, authorities subsequently placed Mr. Cockrell under arrest on the suspicion of murder. Kenneth Leroy Cockrell Jr. was then booked in to the SLO County Jail and is being held without bail. More information on this case is pending a press conference that will be held at 1pm, Monday afternoon. KEY News reporter Arti Nehru has more on this story.
