Vigil for Teen Victim in School Shooting

Written by Kyra Jenkins

A candlelight vigil was held Friday night in memory of Lawrence King, victim of Tuesday's Oxnard school shooting.
Residents, officials, family and students gathered and spoke out against hate crimes.
The service was organized by the Ventura County Rainbow Alliance, a non-profit group that advocates for gay and trans-gender rights. Students at EO Green Jr High say King dressed in women's clothing, and he may have been targeted because of that.

Fourteen-year-old Brandon McInerney allegedly shot King twice in the head, in front of students. He faces murder charges. Friday, King was taken off life support. His organs will be donated.
