Santa Barbara- Business is booming at local hotels as tourist pour into town for the always popular Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Judy Manahan, visiting from Chino Hills says, "Its very busy, very exciting, a lot of people walking around. We had a great time."

"It's like the weekdays turn into weekends. There's a lot of people in the lobby a lot of hustle and bustle," says Andrew Dawid, an employee of Hotel Santa Barbara.

Local hotels say the increase in occupancy couldn't come at a better time than the winter months following the holidays.

Gary Lynd is the Coast Restaurant Manager at the Canary Hotel. He explains, "It generally brings more people in town. We see a little uptick. You know, these times it can be generally slower. Its good to have an event like the film festival."

The festival is expected to bring in thousands of people over its eleven days, translating into higher sales and tax revenues.
