Woman Accused of Manslaughter Rejects Trial

A Santa Barbara woman charged with killing a local doctor while driving under the influence changes her plea from "not guilty" to "no contest."
Heather Hulsey gave up her constitutional right to a jury trial at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. The judge will decide Hulsey's fate at her sentencing scheduled in February of 2008. She could get up to 9 years in prison.
The 21-year-old use to attend Santa Barbara City College. She allegedly struck and killed her neighbor, Dr. Ronald Schlensky last July while driving drunk.
