Written by KEYT Assignment Desk

Authorities in Pismo Beach say over $1,000 worth of vandalism was committed overnight in the small coastal community.

According to police, several suspects vandalized and destroyed property at 10 different locations between the early morning hours of 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The alleged vandals pushed over cement trash bins, ripped out irrigation lines and damaged benches between the 300 and 1500 blocks of Shell Beach Road.

The damaged trash bins were decorated with hand painted murals by local artists who donated their time to the project.

Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who has information that leads to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the crimes.

Anyone with information about these incidents can call the Pismo Beach Police Department at 773-2208 or Crimestoppers at 549-STOP.
