GUADALUPE, Calif. - More than a hundred helping hands came to Mary Buren Elementary School on Thursday as part of "Give and Grow Beautification Day."
Volunteers from local company Zodiac Aerospace came to the school to install a new jungle gym, paint maps of the world and the United States on pavement. They also helped landscape and clean the garden.
Employees from the company started the non-profit to "Create, Donate, and Educate" in 2007. Since then, they have completed similar projects at other valley schools. The company pays the employees regular wages, and other individuals and businesses donate.
"I absolutely love that students will get to experience first hand what giving back to the community looks like and means through the actions of Zodiac and the Give and Grow Team," said Mary Buren Elementary Principal Jesely Alvarez. "What they are giving to our school community is priceless in helping students continue to grow their sense of pride and to do their best everyday."
