LOS OSOS, Calif. - Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of shots being fired from a parked car into an open field in Los Osos.
The call came in a little before 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the person reporting the incident provided the license plate number and a description of the vehicle to dispatch, according to officials.
Deputies report they saw the suspect vehicle traveling in the Los Osos area, and due to the report of a rifle being in the vehicle they treated the stop as a high-risk stop. Three suspects, two juveniles, and an adult were initially detained, and according to deputies, a rifle was recovered from the vehicle and it was determined it was a BB rifle.
Deputies determined the two juveniles fired the weapon from inside the vehicle as it was parked at the intersection of Clark Valley and Los Osos Valley Roads. The juveniles face a charge of Discharge of a BB Device in a Grossly Negligent Manner. They were released to their parents. The adult involved was not arrested.
