SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A paraglider spotted the wreckage of a single car crash that left two people dead off Gibraltar Road on Sunday, but it is not clear when the crash happened.
Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni said the Honda went over the side and down about 500 feet near the 5400 block of Gibraltar Road. He said the victims were thrown from the car. Zaniboni said no one else was in the car.
A paraglider spotted the car around 3:30 p.m. and reported the accident.
The license plate matched a missing car out of Lompoc.
Los Padres Forest Service officials and Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue crews used rope systems to recover the bodies.
