The 10th annual Cuesta job fair drew around 200 people looking for jobs in San Luis Obispo County.

Among those looking for jobs, Paul Nevosh, who retired 11 years ago said he’s been struggling to find part-time work.

Nevosh said he has plenty of experience but finding the right employer is a challenge.

Cheryl Ruck was at the job fair helping people like Nevosh connect with employers. Ruck is a job developer with Options Family Services.

Ruck said there is a wide range of employers in the San Luis Obispo area looking for employees. She said jobs in health, retail, customer service are all hiring but it's a challenge to find good matches for both potential employees and employers.

The unemployment rate in SLO is 6.2% compared to 8% statewide.
