SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

An aggressive response in the More Mesa area of Santa Barbara kept a green house fire from spreading to nearby homes, and the open preserve.

The fire started just before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at a commercial green house on the 1200 block of Orchid Drive near Barwick Road.

The owner said the building is 35,000 square feet. No injuries were reported.

County fire officials said 1000 square feet of the building was burned and was caused by a downed power line.

The fire broke out near power lines and close to the open preserve of More Mesa.

An aerial attack was ordered within minutes, while Santa Barbara County Fire crews battled the flames from the ground.

Southern Californian Edison temporally cut power to the area once they arrived on scene to take control of live power lines.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Deputies proved traffic control in the area.
