ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. -

Jack’s Helping Hand, a San Luis Obispo non-profit group, known for helping children with special needs has added therapeutic horseback riding to their programs.

On Saturday three of the kids in their program had lessons with Lisa Ankerbrandt, a certified therapeutic horseback riding instructor.

Ankerbrandt works with people of all ages; she said “I’ve had students speak for the first time after only riding one time. I’ve had students take quite a few months before they’re able to pick up the reins.”
