PORT HUENEME, Calif. -

Neighbors said they knew the man who was shot twice in the head near a children's playground in Bolker's Park, but Port Hueneme police have not identified him.

Neighbors called 911 after seeing a fight brewing and then hearing gunshots.

Most were afraid to talk about the case.

Police said the 20-year-old was nearly killed around 4 p.m., Wednesday.

He is now on life support.

Someone reported seeing a gray station wagon heading to Hemlock Street right after the shooting.
