Residents in Goleta have gone several months without receiving a water bill, but not the issue has been resolved and it's coming with a hefty price.
The Goleta Water District has experienced technical issues with their new billing system. Since then the district has resolved the issues with a vendor to make sure the accounts of the each of the their customers are accurate.
"The district has made significant progress. All of our costumers are receiving regular billing as of July. We would like to think our billing issues are behind us now," said David Matson, assistant general manager of Santa Barbara Water District.
Residents should now be receiving their statements in the mail, but should expect a pricy bill. The statement includes all bills in the past that were not paid for.
"Our customers have been absolutely terrific, understanding and patient. We've been frustrated, they've been frustrated and I would like to say we are on the right track and again, hopefully we put all this all behind us," said Matson.
