Many of the stars attending the Santa Barbara International Film Festival will only have a short walk to go to the "after party" events. A special tent has gone up next to the Arlington Theatre for the gatherings.
The tent will be sponsored by Moët Hennessy USA , a marketer of luxury wines and spirits, and a company that has been aligned with the festival for years.
Guests leaving the theater after films or special tributes, and who are invited to the receptions afterwards, can walk through the lobby and out into the private tent.
In the past many receptions were held at various locations in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Montecito and required coordination and parking plans.
The opening night of the festival is Thursday. A capacity crowd of 2000, is expected at the Arlington Theatre for the movie, Mission Blue. For that event, a special party takes place in the Paseo Nuevo Mall nearby with music, and local restaurants providing food and drinks.
