CARPINTERIA, Calif. - There's an amazing array of custom Christmas trees on display as part of a raffle in Carpinteria for the holiday season.
The annual Festival of Trees presented by the Carpinteria Lions Club is in its 8th year.
Each one is already decorated, and underneath are unique collections of presents.
One has all crystal. One has camping gear. Another has film festival passes and theater decorations. The largest prize package is about $6000. in certificates and services in the city.
This year there are 21 uniquely decorated trees.
Supporters can buy a raffle ticket for $1. each and place as many as they purchase in the tubs in front of the tree they want to win.
The event concludes December 9th and the drawings take place the next day.
You can see the trees and buy tickets daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carpinteria Arts Center on 865 Linden Avenue.
