SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

UPDATE: The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the driver killed Saturday morning in Santa Maria.

24-year-old William Douglas Rogers died after crashing his Chevy Silverado near the intersection of E. Clark Avenue and Dominion Road.

CHP investigators found that the Santa Maria man sped through a stop sign before catapulting his truck over a fence and flipping the vehicle on its roof in a pasture. Rogers was wearing his seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Santa Barbara County Fire, California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff Department responded to the accident and believe it happened sometime during the night.

The results of toxicology reports are pending at this time.
