GOLETA, Calif. -

Family and friends of a Goleta teen who was tragically hit and killed by a train on Friday are remembering 15-year-old Edwin Garcia.

On Sunday afternoon, a car wash fundraiser was held in Goleta to help the family of the teen. The money raised will go toward funeral expenses.

Loved ones told NewsChannel 3, the support helps them get through this difficult time.

"I couldn't be happier at a time like this. The help we received from the community and everyone, also people I didn't even know who Edwin are coming out to care and really helping out with their time," said Kevin Blake Derrick, Edwin's brother-in-law.

If you would like to help the Garcia family, you can make a donation to the Edwin Fund at Wells Fargo, account number 632778867. The account is listed under Edwin's mom, Bernarda Castro.
