SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Hundreds of Santa Barbara teachers held a rally outside the Santa Barbara Unified School District on Tuesday night.
They lined up to walk through the school board meeting room to show board members how many teachers cared about contract negotiations.
Karen McBride, the president of the Santa Barbara Teachers Association, said they want to negotiate a raise that would be retroactive during this school year.
She said contract talks will resume on Wednesday morning.
Teachers said a raise will help them hire new teachers and keep current teachers in the classroom.
