SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department arrested 35-year-old Travis Rosenblatt Thursday morning after a more than two-hour standoff.

Authorities say Rosenblatt is an armed robbery suspect from February 2013. He is accused of slashing the tires of a Mobil Gas station owner before robbing the station on Las Positas.

Deputies got a break in the year-long case when new DNA evidence pointed to a home on the 1400 block of Las Positas Place. Officers surrounded the home around 5 a.m. and made verbal commands for Rosenblatt to exit the home.

When Rosenblatt would not cooperate, the SWAT team was brought in to assist. Residents say officers used smoke and flash-bang bombs to try and get Rosenblatt to come out. He finally gave up after more than two hours.

During that time, nearby residents were told to stay inside and two other people living with Rosenblatt were evacuated. Authorities do not believe these people, a man and woman, have any role in a crime. They would not provide comment to NewsChannel 3 other than saying Rosenblatt was "quiet and stayed to himself."

Rosenblatt has been booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
