Doctors grow nose on man's forehead
Chinese man suffered irreparable damage to nose following car accident
Doctors in China have grown a new nose on the forehead of a man who damaged his own honker in a car accident.
The man, identified only as Xiaolian according to Reuters, suffered irreparable damage to his nose from an infection.
Since they couldn't fix what was already there, doctors decided to "grow" the 22-year-old a new nose using skin from his forehead, which most closely resembles skin on a person's nose.
Tissue expanders were placed under the skin and then cut to resemble a nose.
According to local media, doctors expect to transplant the new nose soon.
When that happens, cartilage from Xiaolian’s rib will be used to give the nose added structure, according to ABC News.
