Dallas Cowboys touch down at Point Mugu on Saturday

Players and cheerleaders visit with military fans

Dallas Cowboys and cheerleaders...

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - An American Airlines plane carrying the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders touched down at Naval Base Ventura County, Pt. Mugu on Saturday afternoon.

It is a team tradition to meet with military families at Pt. Mugu on the way to the players summer training camp in Oxnard.

Fans of all ages lined up to take photos with the players and to get autographs.

The team escaped 100 degree temperatures in Dallas to practice in Oxnard where there is usually an ocean breeze.

Fans outside the base will be able to watch them practice for several weeks on their River Ridge field starting Monday at 4p.m.

An opening ceremony with the cheerleaders will be held at 3 p.m.

This year, fans will notice housing under construction in the old parking area, but parking is available near the field.

Admission is free but there is a fee for parking and concessions that benefit Oxnard students groups.
