Woman who embezzled $1.5 million from SLO County company sentenced to 10 years

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A woman who embezzled nearly $1.5 million from a San Luis Obispo County construction company will face 10 years in jail.

Elizabeth Edith Shaw, a former employee of Winsor Construction, pleaded guilty to all 26 counts leveled against her in San Luis Obispo District Court.

In July, following a 10-month long investigation, Shaw was charged with 20 counts of felony grand theft by embezzlement and six counts of felony tax evasion.

Over a 12 year span, Shaw embezzled $1,491,701.33 -- which she has been ordered to pay back in restitution. 

Shaw will spend 10 years in custody followed by three years of post-release supervision.
