Ventura police searching for man who robbed cellular store

VENTURA, Calif. - The Ventura Police Department is searching for a suspect who robbed a Ventura AT&T store Thursday morning.

At around 9:30 a.m., police responded to the AT&T store at 2850 Johnson Drive after the business's robbery alarm had been activated.

When officers arrived on scene they set up a perimeter and spoke to the store's manager. The manager said the store had been robbed and the suspect had fled on foot.

Police learned that the suspect approached the manager in the store and presented a note demanding cell phones from the storage room.

The suspect was not believed to have a weapon.

The manager complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cell phones.

The suspect then fled the area on foot.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

No injuries were reported and the case is under investigation.
