VENTURA, Calif. - A Los Angeles man wanted out of Orange County was arrested Thursday in Ventura after officers positively identified him as a suspect in a wanted flier.
Officers originally responded to the La Quinta Inn at 5815 Valentine Road after receiving an anonymous tip about possible human trafficking in the area.
While staking out the area, detectives recognized a subject who was featured in a wanted flier distributed by the Orange County Disctrict Attorney's Office a few weeks earlier.
Officers identified the man as Byron Haskins, 27, of Los Angeles.
According to a press release from the Ventura Police Department, Haskins is a known pimp who had failed to appear on weapons charges stemming from an October arrest in Santa Ana.
Officers made contact with Haskins and took him into custody without incident. Haskins was transported to Ventura County Jail where he was booked for his outstanding warrants.
No arrests were made in connection to the initial report of human trafficking.
