Ventura man arrested in connection to suspected narcotics sales

VENTURA, Calif. - A man was arrested Thursday as part of a several week-long investigation regarding suspected sales of methamphetamine.

The suspect has been identified as Antonio Chavez, 42, of Ventura.

At around 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Unit Detectives located Chavez as he was leaving a residence on the 1200 block of Snipe Avenue in Ventura.

Chavez was detained without incident. Detectives then executed a search warrant at Chavez's home on the 3000 block of Channel Drive.

While searching the residence detectives located over an ounce and a half of methamphetamine, just under one ounce of heroin, one-quarter ounce of cocaine, evidence of narcotic sales and a large amount of cash.

Chavez was arrested in connection to several felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and was transported to the Ventura County Main Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
