VENTURA, Calif. - Ventura Police arrested a man Monday morning after he fired a gun several times inside of his mothers Bell Street home.

Reports of gunshots were called in to police headquarters around 10:20 p.m. Sunday night. Officers arrived and spoke with the reporting party. She told officer the man with the gun was her son and he was highly intoxicated, officers say.

The man inside the home was 27-year-old Justin Abbe. Police say he refused to exit the residence and that's when officers surrounded the home. Several neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Around 4:30 a.m. Monday Abbe surrendered and was placed under arrest. He's facing charges for firing a weapon inside of a residence.

No one was injured during the incident.
