Ventura teen accused of stealing cash...

VENTURA, Calif. - A 17-year-old Ventura boy was arrested Sunday evening after police say he pushed a woman and ran off with a cash box that was being used as part of a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America.

The incident took place at around 11 p.m. in front of Vons at 5688 Telephone Road in Ventura.

A mother and her son were selling items to raise money for the Boy Scouts of America in front of the store. The suspect approached the table, pushed the mother away and ran off with the cash box.

Officers searched the area and were able to locate the suspect nearby. He was in possession of the cash box and was later identified by witnesses.

The suspect was placed under arrest in connection to the robbery and booked in the Ventura County Juvenile Hall.

Due to the suspect's age, his identity was not released.
