Ventura County Sheriff's deputy injured while pursuing suspect

CAMARILLO, Calif. - A Ventura County Sheriff's Deputy suffered minor injuries and two suspects were arrested following a foot pursuit in Camarillo.

On Thursday just before noon, a Ventura County Sheriff's deputy spotted a wanted felony suspect walking on Ventura Boulevard.

The deputy attempted to make contact with the suspect, but the suspect fled on foot. As the deputy attempted to chase after the suspect, the deputy was obstructed by Elizabeth Andrade. The suspect then ran onto Highway 101, crossing all lanes of traffic.

Additional deputies were called in to aid in the search for the suspect, who was located and taken into custody in an agricultural area east of Central Avenue.

The suspect, identified as George Glass, was arrested by deputies.

Andrade returned to the area where the foot pursuit began after initially fleeing in a vehicle. She was taken into custody by deputies.

A deputy suffered a minor injury during the foot pursuit which required medical evaluation.  

Glass and Andrade were both booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, in Ventura.

Glass faces possible charges for resisting an executive officer and a local felony warrant for vehicle theft and evading an officer. His bail was set at $30,000.

Andrade was booked on a complaint for resisting an executive officer. Her bail was set at $10,000.
