VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - Two teens were injured Saturday morning due to a shooting in the community of Saticoy.
Ventura County Sheriff patrol deputies and detectives responded to a shooting in the 11000 block of Violeta street around 2:22 a.m. on May 12. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two victims inside a parked car.
Before investigating further, a light-colored sedan stopped a short distance away. An unidentified suspect then fired a single round at the victims' car. The round hit the vehicle, and a bullet fragment hit both victims.
The victims fled the scene in their vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 118. The suspect vehicle followed them, and a suspect in the car fired several additional rounds at the victims' car. After getting away from the suspects, the victims' vehicle crash and came to rest along Forest Park Blvd. in the Riverpark area in Oxnard.
Both victims had non-life threatening injuries. A 16-year old boy from Oxnard was one of the victims in the car and was treated at a local hospital and was later released. A 13-year old girl from Ventura was also one of the victims and was transferred to a hospital in Los Angles, but has since been released.
