SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Police are investigating a stabbing in downtown Santa Barbara that sent two men to the hospital.
The Santa Barbara Police Department responded to M8RX at 409 State street for a report of a fight that occurred inside the club.
Someone inside the club captured the fight on cell phone video. It's unclear if the fight is related to the stabbing.
Officers arrived at the scene at around at 12:25 a.m. and were unable to locate any suspects or victims.
Police say there was a significant amount of blood at the scene.
While on scene officers received word that two men were admitted into Cottage Hospital with apparent stab wounds.
"What we learned was two groups of individuals were located inside of the M8RX. They became involved in a physical altercation there. That altercation got pushed out into the street and it continued. Right now, it's a little unclear where the stabbing occurred, if it occurred out in the street or in the nightclub itself," said Sgt. Andy Feller.
Officers went to Cottage Hospital to speak with the two men but police say they were uncooperative.
Police locked down the 400 block of State Street while they investigated the scene. They found some articles of clothing as well as more blood at the scene.
Police say another person was kicked in the head and later transported to Cottage Hospital for a head injury.
None of the three men admitted to the hospital were willing to talk to police.
Officer believe the fight may be related to possible gang affiliation.
The investigation is ongoing.
