Traffic stop in Santa Maria leads to gun, drug arrest

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A traffic stop in Santa Maria led to the arrest of a felon who was in possession of a firearm and drugs.

Officers conducted the stop on Friday on the 1900 block of Roemer Way. 

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Rickey Pacheco.

Officers say Pacheco was found to be in possession of 4.3 grams of methamphetamine.

Pacheco also had a felony warrant for his arrest and he was found to be on probation and driving on a suspended license.

Officers searched Pacheco's vehicle and located a .22 caliber handgun, .22 caliber ammunition, .38 caliber ammunition, 15.1 grams of methamphetamine and $1,270 in cash.

Pacheco was arrested and faces possible charges for having an outstanding warrant and being a felon in possession of firearm. He could also face various charges related to the possession and transportation of methamphetamine.
