SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara police and medical personnel have been dispatched to a stabbing in the area of Chapala Street and Victoria Street in Downtown Santa Barbara.
The incident occurred just before 12 p.m. The victim was located at 35 W. Anapamu Street. Police are looking into the possibility that this incident may be drug-related.
At this time, it appears only one victim and one suspect were involved in the incident. The suspect remains on the loose, however, police spokesman Anthony Wagner told NewsChannel 3 that the suspect poses no danger to the general public.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 40's sporting a mustache and was last seen riding a black bicycle, according to emergency traffic radio.
The victim was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with minor injuries. Authorities say a pocketknife was used in the attack.
