Solvang woman arrested for DUI after crashing into motorists in Goleta

At least two people were injured in crashes

GOLETA, Calif. - Emergency crews and law enforcement were called out to the area of Hollister Avenue and Entrance Road in Goleta to investigate multiple crashes reportedly DUI-related.

A female driver was seen traveling westbound on Hollister Avenue crashing into several cars in the 6800-7200 blocks of Hollister just after 2:30 p.m.

Two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said the suspect car crashed into one car at Los Carneros Way, two cars on south Glen Annie Road, hit a sidewalk with an electrical box on it, and hit the center median near Cannon Green Drive before coming to a stop near Entrance Road.

Sheriff officials said the suspect driver is identified as 30-year-old Renee Romero of Solvang. 

Romero was taken into custody by Sheriff's deputies for felony driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, and felony reckless driving. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Romero will be booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail after she is medically cleared.

The roadway was temporarily closed while crews cleaned up the wreckage. The incident is under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
