SLO transient arrested for commercial burglary

Police have yet to locate the stolen property

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - San Luis Obispo police arrested 37-year-old Freddie Sarenana, a transient in SLO, Wednesday morning and booked him into county jail for burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said that on June 19, officers were called to a report of a burglary at Polymax LLC. They said several thousands of dollars worth of electronics were taken during the burglary.

Authorities plastered images of the suspect caught on surveillance video all over social media and within 24 hours, several people, including two SLOPD downtown bike officers, identified him as Sarenana.

Police took Sarenana into custody at 11 a.m. on Wednesday after being stopped by a SLO police officer. During a search, police discovered a hypodermic needle and a meth pipe.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department said Sarenana admitted to the burglary but they have yet to recover the stolen property.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen property or this case is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Sarenana is being held on a $50,000 bail.
