Sheriff's deputies arrest two Los Prietos Boys Camp runaways

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's arrested two teens assigned to the Los Prietos Boys Camp Wednesday after walking away from a work program they were participating in at Santa Ynez High School.

Deputies began searching for the two teens just before 5:30 p.m. when they were spotted near the high school, leading to a brief foot pursuit.

One person was taken into custody at the high school. The second teen tried hiding in the residential area around El Rancho Market, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies set up a perimeter near N. Refugio Road and Mission Drive/Highway 246. Probation units were called to the scene for assistance.

Eventually, the second individual was seen trying to hide inside a stock room at El Rancho Market where deputies quickly took him into custody.

No one was injured in the incident.
