Santa Maria convenience store robbed at gun point

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Police are searching for a suspect that robbed a convenience at gun point early Sunday morning in Santa Maria.

At around 2:20 a.m., Santa Maria Police Department responded to the 1900 block of South Broadway for a report of a robbery that had occurred at a convenience store.

Officers learned that a black male entered the store and then brandished a firearm and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and then the suspect fled on foot.

He was last seen running westbound on Carmen Lane from Broadway. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
