Police release identity of woman killed in Oxnard shooting

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department has released the identity of the woman killed in a shooting in Oxnard on Sunday.

Alexis Jean Lopez, 26, of Camarillo was seated inside a full-size truck that was stopped at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Santa Clara Avenue when an unknown gunman opened fire.

Lopez was shot and died at the scene from her injuries.

A 27-year-old man from El Rio was also sitting the truck when the shooting happened. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
