LOMPOC, Calif. - LATEST UPDATE
The California Highway Patrol has released additional details in the wild vehicle pursuit Tuesday morning involving three teenagers from Goleta.
The CHP arrest report says Buellton CHP officers attempted to stop a tan Toyota Camry on Highway 1 northbound near mile post marker 10.00 at about 10:20 a.m. The driver of the Camry did not stop and instead, speed up heading towards the City of Lompoc.
After driving recklessly on Lompoc city streets, the driver of the suspect car drove over a curb and crashed into a large metal electrical box at the Lompoc High School Campus, according to the report. That's when the three suspects jumped out of the car and fled into the school campus.
After a thorough search of school premises, law enforcement personnel with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, Lompoc Police, and CHP found and arrested the three suspects who are underage.
All three teens were booked into Juvenile Hall in Santa Maria. Police later determined the Camry was stolen out of the City of Goleta.
